Promoting Jambi's fine robusta

Jangkat highland of Merangin District, Jambi Province has long been known as a robusta coffee-producing region. The highland is in the vicinity of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, a home to rich biodiversity and endemic species such as the Sumatran tiger.

Coffee has the potential to be an important source of income for forest communities and create a strong incentive for them to protect the forests. We also delivered training on post-harvest coffee processing to help famers produce a fine robusta. After years of training and learning processes, farmers can produce fine robusta with a consistent quality. They go with the name D'jangkat Sungai Tenang as their coffee brand.

At a coffee auction hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia in 2018, D'jangkat Sungai Tenang was sold for a staggering Rp 300.000/kilogram (equals to USD 21.2), breaking the record for robusta coffee sales.
